Mulberry Fall 2011 Campaign

Mulberry’s Fall 2011 campaign preview includes models Julia Saner and Tati Cotilar and they are photographed by Tim Walker.

Has a nice American feel to it, but seeing that this is just a preview, I’m going to bite my tongue until the entire campaign comes out.

Vogue Italia June 2011

Steven Meisel captures plus size models Robyn Lawley, Tara Lynn and Candice Huffine on Vogue Italia’s June 2011 issue.

A plus size model on the cover of Vogue is big…let alone 3, but 3 plus size models on the cover of Vogue Italia is HUGE! Congrats to the models!

Menswear: Vivienne Westwood Fall 2011

The classic man of the 1930s is very prevalent in Vivienne Westwood’s Fall collection. Three pieced suits, pastel colors, pinstripes, and plaids. To add to the look Westwood’s collection had baggy pants, suspenders, and ankle length pants. The color palette in Vivienne Westwood’s is probably my favorite aspect of the Fall collection. The mix of plaids and stripes plus the colors makes for a great, bright collection…for FALL! Love it! Overall I’m going to give this collection 2 thumbs up for the range of fantastic pieces that were created for Fall. I look forward to seeing their Spring collection.

Doo.Ri Fall 2011

The main reason I selected Doo.Ri’s Fall 2011 collection is because, even though the colors are minuet and seem to have only the simplest forms of colors, I felt like this is what a FASHIONABLE woman in the business world should reflect. This entire collection can easily transfer off the runway with no issues. They have business professional, casual pieces, casual day pieces, and sexy night pieces. I am HEAD OVER HEELS in love with that HUGEEEEE oversized scarf. I also love the sweater with the roped pieces draped across the body. Overall, I just think that this collection isn’t too much, but it’s enough to be set apart from a crowd of people.

Christian Louboutin vs. YSL

It seems Christian Louboutin and YSL are going at it in court over the famous “red sole”.

YSL claims they have been using the red bottoms way before Christian Louboutin was even a fashion house. They even went as far as claiming that King Louis wore them in the seventeenth century.

Christian Louboutin however, does have trademark copyrights to the red soles. It seems though that Christian Louboutin does have a valid reason in suing YSL, especially since the red bottoms are synonymous to the French fashion house.

However, at the end of the day, they did not create red soles, which is also YSL’s argument. This is going to be a long fight.

Christina Ricci in Zac Posen/2011 Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum

Christina Ricci in Zac Posen at the 2011 “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum.

THIS IS A GOWN! It doesn’t look like a high school prom dress AND it’s sexy! I love the bottom and the train. It really is beautiful. I love that the dress is black too. It looks like spider webbed gown. I just love it. Christina Ricci doesn’t fail when it comes to fashion! TWO THUMBS UP!!

I hate this dress. Its super cheesy. The color is all wrong, especially against her skin tone. I hate the cheesy stars on the back of the dress. It looks like applique, looks cheap and tacky. What do ya’ll think!?
