It seems Christian Louboutin and YSL are going at it in court over the famous “red sole”.
YSL claims they have been using the red bottoms way before Christian Louboutin was even a fashion house. They even went as far as claiming that King Louis wore them in the seventeenth century.
Christian Louboutin however, does have trademark copyrights to the red soles. It seems though that Christian Louboutin does have a valid reason in suing YSL, especially since the red bottoms are synonymous to the French fashion house.
However, at the end of the day, they did not create red soles, which is also YSL’s argument. This is going to be a long fight.
